What We Do
We Serve
In the District of Columbia there are 3,000 children in foster care; 1,800 children under the age of five who are homeless; and 35,000 children who live in homes where the next meal is uncertain.
The Washington Children's Foundation
The Washington Children’s Foundation supports organizations that provide services to children in the District who are at risk. We conduct our own research to identify those which meet the “best of the best” standard. We make site visits to observe the work being done by these organizations and then invite a request for funding. Following our decision to make a grant, we maintain contact with the organization to monitor progress and ensure that our common objectives are realized. The Washington Children’s Foundation does not accept unsolicited requests for grants.
